MAT Filtration Technologies has joined a project with İzmir University of Economics, recognized through the University Industry Collaboration Project Awards organized by EBSO (Aegean Region Chamber of Industry). Through this collaboration, MAT’s Research and Development team contributes to capacity and local development at the university, while also strengthening the connection between academia and industry. The project is titled “Prototype Manufacturing Based on System Design and Analysis Studies of a New Generation Dielectric Barrier Discharge Ozone Generator for Wastewater Disinfection Process”, and is conducted between industry and academia.

Project Scope and Academic Collaboration

The project was organized by the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry’s University Industry Collaboration Coordination Board to strengthen cooperation between academia and industry. Its primary objective is to enhance regional research and development capacity, promote best practices in key areas such as water management, and foster a more visible and impactful innovation ecosystem.

The initiative brings together the complementary strengths of both sectors: companies contribute investment and entrepreneurial expertise, while universities provide academic knowledge and research capabilities.

Within the scope of industry with academia collaboration promoted by EBSO, the award was granted based on evaluations of R&D, innovation capacity, and sectoral contribution. Our project successfully distinguished itself among leading companies such as İzmir Demir Çelik, KFC, Sun Tekstil, and Tetra Pak, and was ranked among the top six finalists.
