With a new 10,000-square-meter factory in the United Arab Emirates, MAT expands its manufacturing capacity, strengthens regional support, and reinforces its position as a global provider of Life Support System technologies.
Envisioning the future and accelerating its international growth, MAT Filtration Technologies has inaugurated a new production facility in Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates. The investment marks one of the company’s most important milestones of the year and reinforces its commitment to meeting the growing regional demand with closer support, localized manufacturing, and faster delivery solutions for projects across the Middle East.
With the addition of the new 10,000-square-meter facility, MAT now operates more than 30,000 square meters of production and operational space globally. The expansion strengthens the company’s manufacturing capabilities for Life Support Systems (LSS), while creating a more integrated and technologically advanced structure for production, logistics, installation, and technical support worldwide.
Expanding Regional Operations with the New Middle East Facility
The new factory employs more than 200 people and includes five main operational departments focused on administration, steel production, MEP works, GRP processing, including cutting, cladding, and lamination, acrylic cutting, mosaic application, pipe installation, and logistics. The facility will mainly focus on the production of FRP tanks, plunge pools, acrylic viewing panels used in swimming pools and public aquariums, and other specialized products designed to increase the production capacity of Life Support System equipment while strengthening MAT’s presence and responsiveness within the regional market.
According to Nurettin Ersu, MAT’s GCC General Manager, the UAE was strategically selected due to the growing demand for acrylic, aquariums, and water-related infrastructure projects throughout the region. “The investment was carefully evaluated. We have the ability to build anything made of GRP or PP. Being located close to the projects is of paramount importance. It creates tremendous advantages in logistics, cost savings, and transparency, as clients can visit the facility at any time for product inspections and quality control before shipment,” he explained.
Ersu also emphasized that local manufacturing strengthens long-term relationships with clients and creates stronger collaboration throughout the entire project lifecycle. According to him, producing equipment within the client’s own region demonstrates commitment, accessibility, and respect toward partners while significantly improving communication, operational efficiency, and delivery timelines.
The services provided locally extend far beyond fabrication. MAT will also oversee installation, testing, delivery, commissioning, and technical support, ensuring a complete and integrated process from manufacturing to on-site execution. This approach guarantees seamless project management with a single point of responsibility throughout every stage of production and installation. Additionally, the company will maintain the same strict quality parameters already implemented at its facilities in Türkiye, while continuing to invest in research and development initiatives focused on sustainability, innovation, and long-term product performance.
Hussein Khalil, Factory Manager, highlighted that the demands of the regional market will continue to shape future manufacturing developments within the new facility. According to him, MAT will utilize the newest technologies established over recent decades while continuously adapting production processes based on client recommendations and operational requirements. “It is extremely important for us to be located close to the projects. Several R&D initiatives are currently ongoing to assess how labor-intensive production processes can be optimized and improved. The outcomes of these studies will determine the next operational and technological steps,” he commented.
Strengthening Sustainability and Long-Term Global Growth
The concept for the new factory was developed after the company identified the need to establish closer relationships with clients in the region while simultaneously strengthening local production capabilities. By manufacturing, testing, delivering, and installing products according to regional standards and market requirements, MAT expects to significantly improve operational efficiency and increase production capacity by more than 30%.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining all international quality and sustainability standards across every stage of production and operation. As part of its long-term strategic vision, MAT plans to inaugurate two additional factories by 2030, including one facility in China and another in the United States. This expansion supports MAT’s objective of surpassing USD 100 million in revenue while continuing to strengthen its position as a global technology-driven manufacturer.
Currently, MAT operates several offices around the world and maintains three facilities in Türkiye dedicated to manufacturing, research and development, engineering, design, testing, quality control, and logistics operations. With the addition of the UAE facility, the company’s total manufacturing capacity and operational infrastructure have expanded significantly, increasing annual production capabilities and improving regional accessibility for international projects.
Yet, about this new facility, Nurettin Ersu also emphasized that sustainability at MAT goes beyond environmental standards alone. According to him, the company believes that long-term sustainability is directly connected to product quality, operational reliability, and fair pricing strategies. “We adapt environmental standards according to domestic regulations and international requirements. For us, sustainability also means building long-lasting relationships with clients through consistent quality, transparency, and trust. This creates continuous business opportunities and stronger partnerships over time,” he stated.
MAT’s Global Presence Today and Vision for the Future
Today, MAT exports to 56 countries, has completed more than 650 projects worldwide, and has produced over 7,500 high-tech products. With a team of more than 700 employees globally, the company continues bringing Turkish engineering and technology to the international stage through innovative and sustainable solutions for the water treatment and Life Support Systems industries.
From its humble beginnings in 2014 with a 3,000-square-meter facility, MAT has grown into a global operation with more than 30,000 square meters of production and processing space across multiple factories and facilities. The company continues to expand both operationally and commercially, particularly in strategic markets such as Saudi Arabia and Japan, where several major projects are already underway.
With its continued investments in manufacturing, research, technology, and international operations, MAT reinforces its commitment to becoming one of the leading global companies in advanced water technologies and Life Support Systems. The new Middle East facility represents another important step toward strengthening regional partnerships, improving production efficiency, and delivering innovative solutions closer to clients worldwide.
